The Children of
Kirby Honeycutt & Lettie Sandlin


Herman Honeycutt - was born November 24, 1933 in Stigler, Oklahoma. He died from cancer on July 30, 1999 in Muskogee, Oklahoma; he had been living in the Stigler area. Herman was a retired Ranch Manager and raised his family in the Owasso area. Services were August 2nd at Mallory Chapel in Stigler under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery near Stigler. Herman is survived by his wife, 6 daughters and 5 sons and 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters and 7 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents Kirby & Lettie Honeycutt and four brothers Floyd (Pete), Charles, Doyle and Dewey.
Floyd Wayne "Pete" Honeycutt  - was born Aug 28, 1935 in Stigler, Oklahoma.  Pete was employed by Public Service Company of Oklahoma as a welder;  he was known for his interest in team roping.  He died at a Tulsa Hospital  on Oct. 27, 1977;  he had been suffering from cancer.  He is survived by his wife; and  3 sons. Funeral services were held at Bixby, Oklahoma and burial was at Sans Bois Cemetery, Kinta, Oklahoma. Pete got his nickname from Pretty Boy Floyd.  Kirby & Lettie had met Pretty Boy and found him to be a nice person.  When Pete was born Kirb began calling him Pretty Boy and as he got older the nickname was shortened to Pete.  Most people never knew his real name

Berniece Bruner - was born September 6, 1936 in Stigler, Oklahoma. She  died on December 12, 2000 in Stigler, Oklahoma after a long illness due to cancer .  She had been married to James Porter and Clarence Bruner, Sr..  Services were December 18, 2000 at Mallory Chapel, Stigler, Oklahoma; burial was at Sans Bois Cemetery.  Berniece is survived by 4 sons, 3 daughters;  6 granddaughters and 6 grandsons. She was predeceased by her parents and four brothers, Charles, Floyd, Doyle, Dewey and Herman Honeycutt. She was also predeceased by Clarence Bruner, Clarence was born Oct. 15, 1924 in Ozark, AR, and date of death is unknown.

Charles Kirby Honeycutt - was born August 1, 1938 near Stigler, Oklahoma. He died from a stomach illness on November 9, 1938. A friend of the family built a casket for the baby and lined it with silk. Burial was at Sans Bois Cemetery.  He is survived by his parents, three brothers and one sister .

Doyle Honeycutt - was born near Stigler, February 24, 1940. He was an employee of Crane Carrier Co. of Tulsa.  He died in his home at Tulsa, Ok on July 6, 1975 from a bullet wound.  Funeral services were held July 10 at First Baptist Church in Keota; he was buried at Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.  He is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons;  his parents Kirby & Lettie Honeycutt,  also several brothers and sisters. Doyle's 2nd daughter was born after his death.

Orville Honeycutt- was born May 15, 1942. He is the 8th child and still living. Orville married Oct. 12, 1964. Orville has 4 children and 17 grandchildren.
Dewey Edward Honeycutt- was born at Stigler, Oklahoma September 12,  1943. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Keota, Oklahoma. He worked for Arthur Godfrey selling Pyrex Bowls. He passed from this life Monday evening September 25, 1961 at Tulsa, Oklahoma having attained the age of 18 years and 13 days. Dewey died from injuries recieved in a hay-truck accident while he & a buddy were hauling hay.  He is survived by his parents, Kirby & Lettie Honeycutt of Keota, 10 brothers and  6 sisters.  Funeral services were at First Baptist Church in Keota, burial was at Sans Bois Cemetery, Kinta.
Larry Honeycutt - was born August 20, 1957 in Keota, OK.  He is the youngest son and next to the youngest child.  Larry married Laura Shamblin on June 30, 1978.  He & Laura have three children.  Kirby John born on July 23, 1981; Freeda Mae born on June 22, 1988; and Larry Douglas born on September 22, 1991.
Marilyn Kay Honeycutt-McGee - was born October 8, 1960 in Fort Smith, AR.  She was the only one of the children that was born in a hospital. She is the youngest child and still living. She married  Ed McGee on October 27, 1984. She and Ed have two children:  Lettie A. McGee - born August 19,1981 ..&.. J. E. McGee born on October 17, 1985 Both Lettie & J.E. were born in Stigler, Oklahoma.

There are 5 Sons and 4 Daughters still living that are not listed on this page due to needing prior consent from each individual before doing so.


The GrandChildren

Linda June Honeycutt - infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T Honeycutt. Died on January 5, 1959 in Dallas, Texas. She was born October 7, 1958 in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her parents, two brothers and maternal grandparents Kirby & Lettie Honeycutt of Stigler, Oklahoma. Graveside services were held at Sans Bois Cemetery, Kinta, Oklahoma.
Leonard Kirby Honeycutt - infant son of Mr. and Mrs. K Honeycutt of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He died Friday, December 20th, 1968 at a Tulsa Hospital at the age of 4 days. Funeral services were at 10:30am Monday with burial at Sans Bois Cemetery, southwest of Stigler, by Agent Funeral Home. Other survivors include his paternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Kirby Honeycutt of Stigler, Ok. and maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Caves of Wyoming.
Ronald Dale Porter - 46, of Keota, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, February 10, 2004 in Keota. He was a rancher for C.A. Overstreet and was a bus driver for Keota schools. Death was caused by injuries received while trimming a tree. Funeral services were at 10 am, Friday, February 13th at Keota First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Sans Bois Cemetery in Kinta, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Keota. Ronnie was born March 6, 1957 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The son of James & Berniece Porter. He was predeceased by his parents, and his maternal grandparents Kirby & Lettie Honeycutt; he was survived by his wife, 2 sons, 3 sisters, 3 brothers and several nieces and nephews.
James Wayne Honeycutt - was born May 8, 1960 in Keota, OK.  On April 27, 1982 Jimmie died instantly from a truck accident.  Jimmie was driving a dump truck for Bumpers and Green Trucking of Stigler, OK at the time of the accident.  Services were held in the Assemble of God Church in Stigler.  Burial at Sans Bois Cemetery.  Jimmie was survived by his wife, parents,  a brother and 2 sisters; he was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Kirby Honeycutt. A daughter was born after his death, unfortunately he never knew that he was going to be a father.  His wife was waiting at home for him to get in from work so that she could tell him and he never made it home.
Andrew Don Honeycutt - was born Dec. 28, 1980. Andy died on Dec 1, 2001 in Fort Smith, Arkansas from injuries received in a Car accident. Andy is buried in the West Nottingham Cemetery in Colora, Maryland. He worked as a labor/mechanic. He was survived by his wife and 2 sons, parents, brother, sister, maternal grandmother, and paternal grandparents. He was predeceased by his paternal Grandparents Kirby & Lettie Honeycutt.

There are several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and so on...still living.


The In-Laws

Larry Dale Upton - was born Feb. 20, 1950 in Stigler, OK. Dale died on Aug. 17, 1997 from Cancer. Dale was a son-in-law to Kirby & Lettie Honeycutt. Dale was survived by his wife, a daughter and 3 sons.  Dale was a much liked person and was a favorite son-in-law to Lettie.  Dale is very much missed.
